The Basics
There are three things you need to have a website on the internet:
A Domain Name
This is the name of your website. It often ends with .COM, though it can end with many other extensions such as .ORG, .NET, .INFO, or a country-specific extension like .CA, .US, or .TV.
We can buy the Domain Name for you (register it), manage it, renew it, and maintain your privacy of ownership. The Small Web Co can also monitor domain names you wish to acquire and snap them up the moment they become available.
A Website Host
This is the computer that your website “lives” on. It should be reliable, fast, and always available. Our servers have a guaranteed up-time of 99.99%.
A website host should offer you enough disk space for your website (it should be large enough to hold your content), and it should offer you enough bandwidth (sure it can it handle 10 visitors to your site every day, but can it handle 10 thousand? Or more?)
Content
This is what someone sees when they visit your website. Is it simple site with just your shop name and address or does it have sound and motion? Does it remain mostly unchanged (static) or does it change every day with new content and complex programming?
We can work with you on your website design and maintenance. Perhaps you want to maintain your website on your own, or maybe you want us to do it for you. You can design and maintain it, or either, or neither, or both.
